About The Open Door

FAQ's & Links & Information

Who are you?

We are a family of believers made up of a truly diverse range of people. We are from Catholic and Protestant backgrounds, as well as those with no previous religious or church experience, united together through Jesus Christ as a Baptist church.

The Open Door is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention with a very comfortable “at-home” feel. In many aspects, we function as one big family, supporting, helping, and encouraging one another in the Truth. We welcome you to come and be a part.

How long is your Sunday service?

Our Sunday service is approximately 90 minutes and includes a contemporary worship service and Biblical teaching. It begins at 10:30 am.

What is your Wednesday night service?

Wednesday nights are a bit more informal and is when you truly get a feel for the hospitality of The Open Door.

We begin with dinner at 5:30. All guests eat for free on their first visit. After that, we do ask for a donation of $4/ person or a $12/family max to help offset the cost of groceries.

What are Community Groups?

Community Groups are where we remove the "big church" feeling. They are where you remove your anonymity and form friendships, connecting over your shared beliefs, sharing a meal, and sharing the highs and the lows of life together.

Community Groups meet twice a month at a Community Group leader's home. We currently have four groups meeting at various areas of Acadiana.

What are you building?

We are building a larger sanctuary! This has been a dream of The Open Door that we have been working on for many years. We are humbled to say that God has provided for us to build this new sanctuary completely debt free! It is estimated to be completed in 2019.

Who is on staff?

Our Pastor is Sam Brooks.

Cyndi Gaudet is the church secretary. Hollie Ward is the children's church director. Fred Davis leads worship.
