About us

Welcome to The Open Door! We are a family of believers who welcome a truly diverse range of people. We are from Catholic and Protestant backgrounds, as well as those with no previous religious or church experience, united together through Jesus Christ. Whatever your story, The Open Door invites you to join us!

Sunday Service

Our Sunday service is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes long and includes a contemporary worship service and Biblical teaching.

Children and Students

We provide safe and nurturing nursery classes for all children from birth to 5 years old during our service. Your children are welcome to remain in the sanctuary with you; however, should you choose to use our nursery services, our greeters can assist you with getting your children to their areas.

All children ages 6 and up remain in the sanctuary. Following our regular service, they are all invited to be a part of a Connect Class. Junior high and high school students meet in the separate student building in the rear of the campus, while younger children have connect Bible study classes upstairs. Children are separated by grade level. Have special needs or diet restrictions? We would be happy to assist. Please make our nursery workers aware of any questions, concerns, or special needs you may have.

Sermons

Pastor Sam Brooks does a great job of clearly presenting the Gospel in a way that you can understand and apply to your life, regardless your season of life. He remains true to the Word of God and preaches accordingly. Please visit our sermon archive page to hear his recent sermons.

What is Connect?

Connect is our small group bible study time from 11:00 – 12:00. This is a great way to meet others and learn more about what’s going on at The Open Door. There are classes for all ages of children as well as Adult Women’s Class, Adult Men’s Class, and our Adult Co-ed Class. We would be happy to help you find a good fit for you.

What is appropriate dress for Sunday service?

“Come as you are!” You’ll find most in attendance in casual to dress-casual attire.

What kind of church is The Open Door?

“The Open Door is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention with a very comfortable “at-home” feel. In many aspects, we function as one big family, supporting, helping, and encouraging one another in the Truth. We welcome you to come and be a part.”

Wednesday Night Service

Wednesday nights are a bit more informal and is when you truly get a feel for the hospitality of The Open Door. We begin with dinner at 5:30. All guests eat for free on their first visit. After that, we do ask for a donation of $3/ person or a $10/family max to help offset the cost of groceries.

Bible study follows dinner at 6:15. Youth get to know each other through Bible study, games, and extra activities.

Nursery is available for children, infants – five years old. 1st – 6th grade boys are invited to be a part of Royal Ambassadors, an outreach to boys, that ministers the Word of God while teaching camping and survival skills. 1st – 6th grade girls are invited to be a part of Girls in Action where they receive instruction from the Scriptures, learn about missions, and gain wisdom for daily life. Both groups have regular events including camping trips, sleep-overs, hiking, canoeing, etc.
