In today’s culture, students are inundated with entertainment.  Multi-billion dollar film, electronic, and video game industries are at our beck and call every where we look.  With this in mind, it is silly for us to believe that by entertaining people in a church setting we can draw them in. We cannot compete with the contemporary culture’s standards of entertainment. Therefore, we approach youth ministry with a simple, engaging format with Jesus being the focus. Our student ministry philosophy is simple: teach students to be disciples and make disciples.

At The Open Door student ministries, you will find volunteers and staff who devote themselves to faithfully teaching the Gospel and creating a rich Gospel-centered environment for students. It is our belief that the Gospel isn’t merely the first step in Christianity, but the source of strength for the believer in this life. In the storms of life, what a magnificent and reassuring message it is to know that Christ died on the cross in our place! When we study the Scriptures, we keep the lens of Christ over our eyes. After all, Jesus himself told us that all the Scriptures point to Him (John 5:39).

It is our mission to see students reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be discipled. We do this through several different offerings; regular fellowship events, weekly Bible studies (Wednesdays at 6:15pm), and weekly discipleship classes (Sundays after worship at 11:00am). We also offer regular opportunities for our students to serve and be on mission within the community and beyond.

Our student ministry includes students in 7th grade through high school. They are under the leadership of our student minister, Ryan McCall, who has a heart for the Lord and His Word. Ryan does a great job at presenting the Word of God in a way that is easy to understand and apply to everyday life.
